We at Hercules have a traditional philosophy and personal involvement with client’s design and develop quality equipment appropriate to their needs.

In the mid-1960s two German brothers, Stefan and Martin Hammel immigrated to Australia and resided in Melbourne, and there they started Hercules.

In 1982 Stefan’s son Michael Hammel formed Hercules Engineering Pty Ltd. Martin’s son, Peter Hammel, had moved from Melbourne to Brisbane and in 1995 along with Michael Hammel they formed Hercules (QLD) Pty Ltd based at Richlands in Brisbane’s industrial west. From these humble beginnings and through years of hard work, Hercules (QLD) outgrew their Richlands facility and in 2002 moved into a purpose built facility at Darra. 

Hercules (QLD) is a family owned and run business which is evident as Peter and his wife, Vanessa, are actively involved on a daily basis to ensure the heritage and the quality of the Hercules brand is delivered with each trailer. While Hercules (QLD) and Hercules Engineering are separate businesses, they work side by side together, continuing to share ideas and actively working together with new product offerings.
